DT in Space - The Talk and Rock Show 2010
Just came back from DT's talk and rock show concert! My word he rocked and talked! I'm so inspired by DT's passion and love for music. Every song composed and sung was filled with meaning. They had belief in the music that they played. They had a common vision, a goal set in mind. Not just music to win the audience over, but so much more... never mind him experimenting with a myriad of genres that span from latin, jazz, pop, r&b, soul and rock, chinese and indian music, the ever so versatile Tao also also brought us back to the 70s and 80s era with magical numbers like hotel california and foxy lady.sitting there on my $130 chair, limited to about 500 cubic metres of space in the indoor stadium, the music that was played throughout this 3hr concert was breathtaking and it won me over. totally. more than just sound waves, more than just lyrics, it was a common connection, a common ground that everyone stood on. a passion, anticipation, drive and love seeking for a deeper appreciation and understanding of this thing called music.
Even as i aspire to learn how to be a better vocalist, this concert inspired me to appreciate music in many ways with words i simply cannot describe. However one thing that amazed me throughout was how music can really be used to connect people together. Its like this oneness that everyone shares... Music is able to connect people together to learn something, to drive home a message, to inspire, to share, to bless, to exalt, to give glory and praise to the one who created music.
Life is short and i only have this one life to pursue my dream (if God wills), one life to serve and one life to give to Him. I can only pray and ask Him to take my hand, just lead me and guide me along this musical journey of life.
Along the same lines, I finally signed up for music lessons at verve music! woohoo! so super excited! never had music class ever since that time i was primary 6 when i stopped piano grade 5! as such this time i'm quite nervous, scared and excited at the same time...
God help prepare me and prepare my heart as well!
2010 is an exciting year already! yeah!
Woohoo.
