AMK's got talent

we would want to showcase any talent, skill, gifts our camp participants might have. They can be performed live or recorded, in person or by proxy, by individuals or in a group. Instead of a panel of judges, we will have a panel of "encouragers"(i thought this was funny) whose aim is to speak well of the performance and identify how each can be used to serve God. All will be winners that night and get a prize.

some suggestions of the possible talents that can be showcased are:
singing, songwriting, acrobatics(??), beat boxing, acting/drama, playing musical instruments, dancing(ahem eugenia), story telling, video production(ahem alpha), art/painting/photography

wahaha. church camp hype!

1. God is compassionate and can comfort us in the hope that through us others can also be comforted. (v3-4)

2. Out of our difficulties, Christ overflows and we can be comforted (v5-7)

3. There will be a point in time where hardship is at its worst and we are tested but we must choose to be steadfast (v8-9)

4. We cab trust and rely totally on God, who has done and is able to do miracles in our life today (v9-10)

5. We can and need to pray for each other (v11)

and so yes i crashed pete's cell group today...

thank God for such a bunch of crazy people who love God as well as love cooking.. realised some of pete's friends are people whom i know too. one frm ns and the other a secondary school classmate. heh.

haha i'm so glad that i had the chance to be part of the kitchen fun abeit taking a few hours to cook!

haha and of course what can beat the generous servings of ice cream on a&w root beer! woo.

Dinner, Taken, Thoughts

Had a great dinner with my friends from pop and jazz.
special thanks to wan ting who burnt the dvd for us.
like what larry said, we're gonna keep it and show it to our grandchildren in the future.. haa
well he has a point - this isn't just another module. this isn't just 3AUs isn't just an unrestricted elective isn't just a waste of time. isn't just a dvd memorabilia. This is life. All of us ONLY have ONE life.

These are Real friendships made. Real music composed. Real experiences in life. Reality.
I thank God for everything. For all the experiences. all the struggles faced. The final performance.
The people and friendships made. Who cares about the grade? it isn't everything.

After dinner emily myself and kelly went to watch the movie Taken which stars Liam Neeson.
Prior to the start of the movie, there was an advertisement which struck a chord in my heart. there was a woman who was giving her speech on her now deceased husband.

FAMILY - its the imperfections in everyday life that causes us to remember our loved ones when they're gone. Every mistake made in one's life contributes to the person's unique and special characteristics and makes him worthy of being loved. So why are we scolding each other, blaming one another for each other's flaws/faults? we are all made fearfully and wonderfully by God above. lets not wait till each other are gone shall we? God first demonstrated what love was on the cross so we can now be FREE to love one another. and i dont mean the bgr lovey dovey love. that doesn't last. True love doesn't fail. true love goes a long way. true love is to the point that one would even be willing to sacrifice one's life for another.

Thats the geist of the movie too(apart with the violence). the father was willing to sacrifice ALL. EVERYTHING. HIS LIFE. so that he could get his daughter back. Our Lord God went ALL the way to get us back from condenmable sin. our shame. we weren't deserving at all. He died for us.

so why are we still sometimes living like we're gonna live on this earth forever?
there's no time to waste. lets look towards heaven. our goal

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." - Matt 6:19-20

we've been talking about it for ages... AGES! and finally yest we went to prawn.
the total haul was 14 in 3 hrs. yeah i know we(in particular me) suck(the lousy suck)
everything was good other than it burnt another $30 in my pocket.

Go Solo

God reveals Himself most for those who are willing and obedient to go up the mountain alone - the 3rd sermon lesson at BSF today struck a note in my heart.

i mean. its ironical. God what do you mean? i don't wanna go solo!

ok perhaps i've been trying to lean on others more than leaning on God alone - is that why my growth is stifled?

If thats the case help me to lean on you please. im desperate for answers.

Great song with a great feel
can't help but think bout lots of stuff.
sometimes all of us yearn to just rush into loving someone at the spur of the moment without considering the factors.
love can't just be based on feelings alone. many many other factors to consider.
we all learn from whatever past experiences(good/bad) i guess
it takes time, trust, God, loads of prayerful consideration...
only time will tell.

have you done your HW (holiday work) yet?

Ever since the holidays started i've been feeling kind of lost.
It has really been a long time since i've even had the chance to sleep more than 7hrs/day or even sit around and wonder what i'm supposed to do next.
before i know it yeah the hole in my pocket seems to be getting bigger as the day goes by.

so the past few days have been really slack since i have loads of time. read some books, did my usual BSF readings... but pretty much quite boring at home.
yeah at least i managed to do some freelance work for my mum's friend - this free software thing called scratch, which is a simple programming language that is good for educational learning.
yeah at least i managed to kick start some vocal practice(finally) too. oh yeah - did some sports! - tennis(with ben) and badminton(with my uni friends). maybe some soccer coming up too!

and so i've applied for a job with business edge(still awaiting their reply), the job-seeking firm which helped me get a job in exxonmobil b4 special sem started last year. Praying that i'll get a decent job before jun. My goodness school only resumes after national day!
